Backend Software Engineer – Finance Super App
BJAKBackend Engineer responsible for building APIs and systems for BJAK's finance super app in Korea. Collaborating with product and mobile teams to deliver scalable financial infrastructure.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build backend services, APIs and workflows for the finance super app.
- Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel and financial services.
- Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications and operations.
- Work with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing journeys quickly.
- Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers and other partners.
- Improve system reliability, observability, security and performance.
- Build systems that are practical, auditable and ready for regulated financial products.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design and production debugging.
- Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems.
- Good understanding of security, reliability, data quality and operational edge cases.
- Able to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality and risk.
- Comfortable working with product, mobile, operations and business teams.
- Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking or regulated products is a strong advantage.
