About the role
- Support remediation of SBR-related audit findings, including unsupported balances, incomplete populations, abnormal variances, and reporting inconsistencies
- Perform budget execution and SBR reporting analysis, including Funding Authorization Document reconciliations, SF-132/SF-133 tie-outs, and variance analysis
- Reconcile key SBR line items to source systems and feeder data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Develop and document remediation plans, including milestones and deliverables to support audit requests (PBC support)
- Assess and enhance internal controls over budgetary reporting and supporting business processes
- Draft and update process narratives and audit documentation to support audit readiness
- Partner with functional teams to remediate data quality issues and improve transaction traceability
- Translate analytical findings into actionable corrective recommendations
- Support ongoing audit activities and stakeholder coordination efforts
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in federal financial management, budget execution, or financial statement audit support
- Demonstrated experience with SBR concepts (apportionment, obligations, outlays, upward/downward adjustments, and budgetary accounting)
- Hands-on experience performing reconciliations and variance analysis
- Experience developing audit-ready documentation and supporting audit requests (PBCs)
- Strong ability to translate financial findings into corrective actions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholder groups
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Secret Clearance (required)
