About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations to AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Assess current Oracle database environments and develop migration strategies tailored to each client's needs.
  • Utilize AWS DMS and SCT to convert schema, migrate data, and ensure compatibility with AWS cloud services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including database administrators, cloud architects, and project managers, to ensure successful migration projects.
  • Troubleshoot migration issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure minimal downtime and data loss.
  • Develop best practices, documentation, and training materials for Oracle to AWS migration processes.
  • Stay current with AWS services, Oracle technologies, and industry trends related to database migration and cloud computing.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in Oracle database administration and migration, with at least 8 years of hands-on experience.
  • Expertise in AWS cloud services, particularly AWS DMS and SCT.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Terraform (IaC) and AWS Lambda functions.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation and orchestration tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Database - Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.
