About the role
- Design and develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for ETL workflows and data pipelines
- Lead and mentor the ETL testing team, allocating tasks and providing technical guidance
- Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and developers to understand requirements and resolve issues
- Monitor and analyze data quality metrics, identifying and resolving data issues
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and verification between source and target systems using SQL and other tools to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Oversee the execution of test cases and automation scripts
- Identify, document, and track defects, working with developers to ensure timely resolution
- Monitor and report on testing progress, quality metrics, and defect summaries to stakeholders
- Create and maintain documentation for test plans, results, and process maps
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in IT
- 4+ years of experience as Test Lead with a focus on ETL and Data Analytics testing
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes
- Experience with ETL and Data Analytics tools (e.g., Azure notebook, Data Bricks, Power BI)
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., ADO)
- Good Database and Data Warehousing testing knowledge
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Python, PySpark)
- Experience managing a team of QA Engineers
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices
- Strong knowledge of software quality assurance best practices & methodologies
