About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Junior Estimator supports the estimating and project teams by preparing quantity take-offs, reviewing drawings and specifications, obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing, and assisting in the preparation of competitive project estimates and proposals.
- This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a strong understanding of fabrication, structural steel, process piping, and modular construction projects while building a career in project execution and estimating.
- The Junior Estimator works closely with Estimators, Project Managers, Procurement, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure accurate cost estimates and successful project pursuits.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in estimating, fabrication, or project coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with estimating software, Tekla PowerFab, Bluebeam, or ERP systems is considered an asset.
- Understanding of structural steel, process piping, modular fabrication, or industrial construction is preferred.
