About the role
- Oversee litigated P&C coverage matters by providing guidance on strategy and assisting Claims personnel with negotiated resolutions;
- Review P&C claims for coverage issues and provide research and guidance to Claims staff;
- Draft coverage position letters and review draft letters from staff adjusters;
- Assist Claims supervisors in triaging new liability losses and monitoring litigation;
- Participate in Claims roundtable discussions/settlement authority meetings;
- Identify areas for adjuster training and growth with regard to coverage issues;
- Help develop the outside coverage counsel panel;
- Assist with document collection and drafting responses to subpoenas;
- Assist with other legal tasks as needed.
Requirements
- J.D. from accredited law school and licensed to practice in at least one state
- At least 5-7 years' experience evaluating P&C coverage claims and litigation
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Experience with General Liability, BOP, Commercial Auto, Workers’ Compensation, and Professional Liability coverage issues preferred
- Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite and working remotely
