About the role

  • Assists leaders in preparation and maintenance of job descriptions for all positions within the company to ensure job descriptions are accurately portraying the work performed by incumbents.
  • This may include internal surveying employees and managers to gather and document the position.
  • Assesses positions and their duties to determine classification as exempt or non-exempt, per FLSA standards, and the appropriate salary range.
  • Runs company-wide compensation studies as needed.
  • This includes benchmarking jobs against survey data to determine competitive ranges for each position.
  • Ability to provide and present on report findings and advocate for change.
  • Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary grades and ranges.
  • Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations for compensation policies.
  • Receives new position requests and creates the position in the HR Information System, Paylocity.
  • Works with area leadership to ensure position is well described, grades the position, ensures FLSA requirements are met based on the positional duties, and confirms with HR Compliance that the Standard Occupational Code and Workers Compensation Codes are accurate.
  • Ensures pay transparency language is in all job descriptions.
  • Processes employee changes (that contain compensation adjustments) submitted through the HR Information System by Managers.
  • Ensures compensation changes are appropriate and all items needed are received to process.
  • May require partnership with HR Business Partners to obtain all items needed.
  • Provides compensation analysis on annual merit and performance review increases to ensure all employees are within their respective ranges.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical support skills and highly computer literate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, particularly well-trained in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with human resources policies and procedures to ensure the HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a compensation analyst required.
  • Experience working in an HR Information System preferred.
  • Ability to learn new systems and feel comfortable with technology.
  • SHRM and/or PHR certification a plus.
