About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for customers and internal project teams
  • Manage complete project execution, ensuring alignment with customer specifications
  • Drive the development of mechanical design and display solutions
  • Lead and coordinate the development of mechanical systems
  • Oversee system integration and design maturity of mechanical components
  • Take ownership of project timelines, budgets, and costs
  • Ensure fulfillment of all mechanical system requirements and specifications
  • Perform and validate design feasibility and functionality
  • Initiate and oversee prototype builds and validation testing
  • Create, maintain, and release 3D models and engineering drawings
  • Select cost-effective materials based on functional requirements
  • Collaborate with customers and suppliers on DFM and DFA processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10-14 years of experience in mechanical systems engineering
  • Proven experience in handling at least 2 full product development projects
  • Strong experience in customer and supplier communication
  • Proficient in CAD tools (CATIA – 3D & 2D)
  • Basic working knowledge of CAE/FEA tools (ANSYS or equivalent)
  • Strong competency in plastic part design
  • Experience in automotive technologies
  • Hands-on experience in the design and development of automotive rotary knobs and push buttons
  • Familiarity with automotive standards (AIS, ECE, JIS)
  • Knowledge of lifecycle and validation testing
  • Basic knowledge of electronics hardware and PCB technologies
  • Strong understanding of the Product Development Process (PDP)
  • BE/BTech/ME/MTech (Mech./Mechatronics/Automobile)
