About the role
- Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to assess new designs' feasibility and define product requirements.
- Create detailed 3D models and renderings, and produce fully dimensioned 2D drawings reflecting design intent.
- Conduct thorough mechanical analyses of structures, enclosures, mechanisms, and assemblies.
- Optimize designs by applying your extensive knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
- Build and refine functional prototypes to test and validate your designs.
- Lead user experience and technical feasibility reviews to ensure optimal product performance.
- Clearly document and communicate designs for precise implementation and manage timelines and deliverables effectively.
- Serve as the technical liaison with external vendors throughout the development cycle, ensuring high-quality outputs.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.
- Over 5 years of hands-on experience in designing structures, enclosures, mechanisms, and assemblies, including extensive DFM practice.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts to multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Deep knowledge of various materials and manufacturing techniques, with a keen understanding of product development from concept to mass production.
- Expertise in 3D CAD and 2D drawing, including GD&T principles.
- Proficient in prototype fabrication and familiar with various engineering and analytical methods such as FEA and DOE.
