About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and retain ongoing client relationships through proactive communication and financial planning
  • Conduct in-depth financial planning and analysis, including retirement, investment, tax, and estate planning
  • Prepare for and lead client meetings, ensuring strategies are effectively implemented
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client service requests and inquiries
  • Manage client portfolios, including asset allocation and rebalancing
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and capture additional share of wallet
  • Maintain a high client retention rate (~95%)
  • Ensure all client interactions and recommendations comply with regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with advisors, paraplanners, and other team members to deliver comprehensive client solutions
  • Participate in business development activities and generate client referrals
  • Stay current on market trends, financial strategies, and regulatory changes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a financial planning or wealth management firm
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation required
  • Strong understanding of financial planning concepts, investment products, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, and client service orientation
  • Experience with Schwab, Salesforce, MoneyGuidePro, Tamarac, or Holistiplan is a plus
