About the role
- Conduct hydrogeological investigations and site characterizations
- Manage, analyze, and interpret complex datasets to meet project objectives
- Translate field data interpretations and hydrogeological conceptual models into the development of hydrogeological modeling studies
- Using the Python programming language, write scripts and automate modeling workflows to improve efficiency and reproducibility of processes
- Collaborate with hydrogeologists, engineers, and geochemists in multidisciplinary teams
- Prepare technical reports and communicate results to internal stakeholders and clients
- Lead small- to medium-scale projects, including proposal development, budget and schedule tracking, internal staff assignment, and management of subcontractors
- Contribute to a culture of technical excellence and collaboration
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in Geosciences, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for registration within one (1) year of hire
- 5–10 years of relevant professional experience, with a specialization in 3D numerical modeling
- Proficiency in Python for modeling and data management
- Experience with geotechnical or groundwater modeling software (e.g., FEFLOW, SEEP/W, MODFLOW, Leapfrog, HydroGeoSphere)
- Excellent written and oral proficiency in French and English
- Proficiency in an additional language is required to communicate with partners and colleagues located outside Quebec
- Collaborative, autonomous, and motivated individual seeking to contribute to a team-focused work environment
- Willingness to travel and work in the field, including in remote areas
