About the role
- Define and execute a company-wide data, analytics, and AI strategy aligned to growth, efficiency, and product innovation
- Translate business priorities into a clear data and AI roadmap with measurable outcomes
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Revenue leaders to drive KPI improvement through data and analytics
- Identify and deliver high-impact AI use cases (e.g., underwriting optimization, operational efficiency, customer lifecycle, pricing)
- Elevate data from reporting to decision-making and automation
- Build and lead a centralized (or hybrid) data & analytics function, including data engineering, analytics, and data science
- Establish scalable operating models, delivery frameworks, and prioritization mechanisms
- Develop and mentor a high-performing, business-oriented data team
- Partner with the CIO/CTO to evolve the data platform, architecture, and tooling to support scale and AI readiness
- Ensure data is accessible, reliable, and usable across the organization
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure data quality, lineage, and trust
- Partner with Legal, Risk, and Compliance to meet regulatory and data privacy requirements (critical in financial services)
- Ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI
- Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership and, where needed, the board
- Communicate the value of data and AI through clear business outcomes and ROI
Requirements
- 10–15+ years of experience across data, analytics, and/or AI, with significant time in financial services or fintech
- Experience operating in regulated environments (data governance, risk, compliance)
- Proven leadership experience building and scaling enterprise data & analytics functions
- Strong business acumen - experience partnering with COO, CFO, or revenue leaders
- Track record of delivering measurable business impact, not just building infrastructure
- Deep understanding of:
- - Data architecture and platforms
- - Analytics and data science
- - AI/ML applications in business contexts
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence at the executive level.
