About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Accurately inputs patient, insurance, and prescription information into the pharmacy system
  • Answers incoming calls and assists callers with non-clinical inquiries
  • Resolves and ensures proper adjudication of claims
  • Confirm patient benefits with insurance and determine required authorizations to assist the patient with coverage of therapy prescribed
  • Responsible for answering in-bound calls and assisting customers with pharmacy related services
  • Obtain client information by answering telephone calls; interviewing clients; verifying information
  • Contact patients to schedule medication deliveries and verify correct address information
  • Maintains new and existing patient profiles and enters new prescriptions into patient profiles
  • Escalates calls to pharmacist for clinical inquiries and escalates grievances to supervisor
  • Ensures patient health information is preserved per HIPAA & PHI guidelines
  • Contact insurance companies for benefit investigation and coverage eligibility

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • License Mass Registered Pharmacy Tech required
  • 1-3 years related work experience required
  • Previous data entry experience (minimum three months)
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access
