About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a role model, providing support, training and sharing knowledge with other Medical Assistants, MA student externs and Practice Assistants in the practice.
  • Make recommendations on resources usage.
  • Identify and resolve OSHA compliance issues, maintain point of care testing and track test results.
  • Participate in practice improvement initiatives.
  • Greet patients and serve as a communication resource.
  • Take complete and accurate information from patients in person and by phone.
  • Obtain vitals, weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature, perform EKGs, injections and/or phlebotomy, and assist providers.
  • Ensure patient records and relevant documents have appropriate patient identification.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Certificate 1 Medical Assistant Certificate required
  • 1-3 years related work experience required
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access
