About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs respiratory care related duties to all age groups.
- Responsible for direct patient care within their scope of services.
- Works under physician orders and follows departmental and hospital policies.
- Utilizes a high level of critical thinking skills.
- Provides direct patient care under physician orders.
- Works collaboratively with providers.
- Reviews current orders and ensures patients receive treatments as ordered.
- Administers medications via various delivery modes.
- Assesses patients throughout the treatment cycle.
- Completes and updates plans of care.
- Enters patient settings on flow sheets and documents alarm parameters.
- Responds to emergency calls and performs CPR as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy from an Accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.
- Massachusetts License Certified Respiratory Therapist – Registered Respiratory Therapist Preferred.
- Current BLS certification.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of PC’s.
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication skills.
- Ability to impart specialized clinical and medical information to members of the health care team; physician, nurses.
