About the role
- Completes the analysis of the medical records within the work queues
- Scans discharge paperwork with 98% accuracy
- Ensures the accuracy of patient information in charts
- Verifies legibility and clarity of scans
- Analyzes records for documentation requirements per Joint Commission, CMS, DPH regulations
- Assigns deficiencies to appropriate physicians within Epic
- Collaborates with physicians to resolve discrepancies
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Three years' experience in a medical record department
- Prior Epic experience desirable
- Knowledge of deficiency analysis
- Knowledge of medical records content and management
- Working knowledge of the EMR, including structured data and database management
- Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to health information and patient confidentiality
