About the role
- Perform healthcare-associated infection (HAI) surveillance
- Investigate potential patient and staff exposures to infectious diseases
- Perform case evaluation and management for infectious diseases
- Support infection prevention regulatory readiness activities
- Serve as the primary infection prevention contact for units and service lines
- Perform Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRAs)
- Participate in outbreak detection and management
- Demonstrate good judgment and maintain compliance with HIPAA guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Licensed Registered Nurse preferred
- Board Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required
- 3-5 years of work experience in infection prevention and control required
- Advanced skills with the Microsoft Office suite applications required
- Experience in use of electronic health record, particularly Epic including infection prevention module preferred
- Detail oriented, critical thinker with strong analytical abilities and interpersonal skills.
