About the role
- Hands-on assembly or repair of electric motors including redlining engineering drawings and created build records.
- Perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and manufacturing processes in concert with design engineers.
- Assist editing and implementing technical documentation.
- Develop your expertise concerning electro-mechanical assembly of fully electric propulsion systems.
- Respect and foster a culture of safety, including working safely around high-voltage.
- Rapidly understand and adjust to new developments while maintaining quick assembly turnaround.
- Support R&D, flight testing, and other validation and certification activities as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical assembly and testing and/or manufacturing environment
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Ability to pivot and rapidly develop solutions to changing goals
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment
- Strong communication skills
- Passion for sustainability
- Experienced with inspection techniques and equipment
- Metal reworking (lathe, mill, etc)
- Basic CAD skills in opening and interrogating parts and assemblies
- Technical knowledge of electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 800 VDC
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting, soldering and board-level rework
- Familiar with electrostatic discharge best practices (ESD)
- Not affected by strong magnetic fields (e.g., individuals with pacemakers or similar devices should be aware of potential safety concerns)
