About the role

  • Hands-on assembly or repair of electric motors including redlining engineering drawings and created build records.
  • Perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and manufacturing processes in concert with design engineers.
  • Assist editing and implementing technical documentation.
  • Develop your expertise concerning electro-mechanical assembly of fully electric propulsion systems.
  • Respect and foster a culture of safety, including working safely around high-voltage.
  • Rapidly understand and adjust to new developments while maintaining quick assembly turnaround.
  • Support R&D, flight testing, and other validation and certification activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical assembly and testing and/or manufacturing environment
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to pivot and rapidly develop solutions to changing goals
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion for sustainability
  • Experienced with inspection techniques and equipment
  • Metal reworking (lathe, mill, etc)
  • Basic CAD skills in opening and interrogating parts and assemblies
  • Technical knowledge of electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 800 VDC
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting, soldering and board-level rework
  • Familiar with electrostatic discharge best practices (ESD)
  • Not affected by strong magnetic fields (e.g., individuals with pacemakers or similar devices should be aware of potential safety concerns)
