About the role
- Develop and refine financial models for projects and programs, prepare forecasts, and analyze financial plans and budgets for global engineering and life sciences practices
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, analyze performance against budget/forecast, and present data to senior management and stakeholders
- Lead daily financial operations, manage cash flow, supervise accounts payable/receivable, ensure accurate costing for engineering projects, and maintain ERP financial systems
- Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure compliance with government reporting, tax filings, and other financial regulations
- Serve as a financial business partner to engineering and life sciences delivery teams, providing insights and guidance to support strategic objectives
- Collaborate with Sales and Delivery teams on bids and RFP responses, conduct market and customer analysis, and contribute to risk management strategies
- Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team, ensuring timely delivery of analysis and fostering a high-performance environment
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or equivalent professional designation strongly preferred
- Proven track record as a Financial Controller or in a senior financial leadership role
- Experience in project-based or service-oriented industries (preferred)
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting principles
- Strong financial reporting and analysis capabilities
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting software and financial systems
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Leadership ability with integrity and attention to detail
