About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and evolve the medallion architecture on Databricks, ensuring a clear separation of responsibilities between the Raw, Bronze, Silver and Gold layers.
Define the data governance strategy: Unity Catalog, data quality policies and a formal inventory of data sources.
Establish the team's technical engineering standards: ingestion framework, schema evolution handling, PR/code review and pipeline observability.
Design the integration strategy between the Gold layer and AI models via MCP, enabling natural language queries over Bernoulli's data.
Contribute technically with engineers and analysts, elevating the team's maturity in Git, data quality and engineering best practices.
Proactively monitor Databricks consumption — processing and queries — proposing architectural improvements to optimize cost vs. performance and tracking budget achievement.
Support or build data visualizations and dashboards with stakeholders — including via Power BI — to demonstrate results and translate data into actionable inputs for business areas.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong expertise in Databricks: PySpark, Delta Lake, Workflows and medallion architecture.
Python and SQL experience in large-scale data projects.
Experience with Data Governance — Unity Catalog or equivalent — with the ability to define strategy, not just operate the tool.
Strategic vision and communication skills to lead roadmaps with technical and executive stakeholders.
Familiarity with data visualization and Power BI: ability to build or contribute to dashboards and demonstrations for stakeholders, with end-to-end project involvement.
Familiarity with FinOps in cloud/Databricks environments: consumption monitoring, cost vs. performance analysis and optimization practices.
Fluent use of AI as a day-to-day accelerator: Claude, GitHub Copilot, Lovable.
Plus: experience integrating data platforms and LLMs via MCP or APIs.
