About the role

  • Translate needs from areas such as student acquisition, academic, and digital products into scalable models/metrics and executive materials.
  • Build and maintain data marts / the gold layer in the lakehouse (Delta).
  • Define and maintain the “single source of truth” for key metrics (funnels, performance, product usage).
  • Ensure data quality and reliability (tests, reconciliation, monitoring).
  • Document datasets and rules (data dictionary, catalog, descriptions) and support self-service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in technology/quantitative fields: Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related areas.
  • Other degrees may be considered if technical knowledge and practical experience are demonstrated.
  • Proven experience in data modeling for analytics (dimensional/star schema, data marts, semantic layer).
  • Strong SQL skills for data transformation and provisioning.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and Delta Lake (Delta tables, basic optimization, notebook/job best practices).
  • Experience with Azure data solutions (e.g., ADLS Gen2, Databricks, ADF/Synapse or equivalent services in the ecosystem).
  • Track record of partnering with business teams to define metrics (e.g., acquisition funnel, conversion, retention, engagement, academic performance, and digital product metrics).
  • Ability to create executive-level materials to support business strategy recommendations.
  • Quality practices (validations, reconciliations, testing) and governance applied to data consumption (documentation, data dictionary, “single source of truth”).
  • Familiarity with agile tools (Jira/Trello/Asana) and experience working in squads.
