About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Reviewing and evaluating requests for proposals
Reviewing construction documents and understanding scope of work to bid
Executing take-offs of construction documents
Read specifications to identify piping material types/joining methods, specific job requirements, and deviations from Company standard practices
Reviewing material takeoff for completeness and accuracy
Entering take-offs into database
Obtaining pricing for specialty materials
Executing material/labor evaluations for specialty materials
Soliciting bids from subcontractors and vendors
Informing immediate supervisor of any inaccuracies or omissions in quoted item or database
Developing and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
Attending divisional meetings
Provide quality control checks of other employees' work output
Assist Bid Captains with estimate generation and finalization
Collaborate with team members to deliver an accurate product while meeting deadlines

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years of related experience
Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Experience with estimating techniques and cost control
Ability to perform detailed labor and material take-offs
Proficient in Excel, Word, and Bluebeam
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
Knowledge of estimating software.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or Business degree
