About the role
- Manage a team of commissioning agents and technicians to execute multiple commissioning projects concurrently.
- Provide leadership and oversight to ensure commissioning scope of work is executed efficiently and accurately.
- Coordinate with clients, external resources, and internal team members to document and communicate client requirements.
- Manage incoming project information and distribute to commissioning staff.
- Develop and continuously track project talent resources and metrics to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Establish and deliver processes for frequent tracking and reporting of project status to clients and stakeholders.
- Provide training and mentoring to commissioning agents and technicians.
- Review commissioning specifications and development of functional tests; participate in execution of functional testing to assist with problem solving.
- Schedule and coordinate commissioning activities with multiple parties and attend project commissioning meetings.
- Participate in owner training and interact directly with owners and clients to manage expectations.
- Provide input to director for development and maintenance of commissioning standards and processes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of commissioning or related experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, automatic temperature control systems, or building operation management experience.
- Able to interact with the owner, contractor and design team in a professional manner.
- Proficient in using software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and online commissioning software such as CxAlloy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
- Supervisory experience: Supervises the work of Commissioning Agents and Technicians.
- Physical/Work Environment abilities: tolerate noisy environments, outdoor elements, climb stairs/ladders/scaffolding, work in tight/confined spaces, repeating motions, operate machinery/power tools, and move objects up to 20 pounds.
- Travel: 0-5% travel to job site(s)/office location.
- Preferred: Registered Engineering Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Preferred: Commissioning Certification (e.g. NEBB, ACG, BCxA, ASHRAE, etc.).
- Preferred: Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
