About the role
- Review energy usage daily and provide guidance, best practices, and modifications of current operations
- Mentor the owner's staff on energy strategies and O&M of multiple facilities
- Directly manage Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of the Central Energy Plant (CEP) for the campus, including subcontractors, operators, and internal service providers
- Manage the Maintenance Reserve Accounts for the CEP
- Work with operators to ensure the plant operates efficiently and perform ongoing training of Plant Operators
- Develop and maintain the Plant Operating Manual
- Assist the EPC team coordinating engineering, procurement and construction activities with OMC operations
- Coordinate on-site troubleshooting and diagnostic efforts with remote support services team
- Responsible for managing one or more teams consisting of Asset Managers
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in one of the following: managing multiple sites and/or multiple Assistant Asset Manager(s)/Asset Manager I/II(s) and/or size/complexity of single site
- 6+ years of management experience in a central plant or facility
- 6+ years of experience in mechanical construction with a large mechanical subcontractor or MEP design consultant
- Well versed in building codes and associated standards
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
- Preferred: 4 year Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET Accredited Program)
- Preferred: PE preferred or FE working towards obtaining PE
- Travel: 10-25% of time
- Physical requirements: ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles; climbing stairs; working in tight/confined spaces; lifting/moving objects up to 50 pounds
