About the role

  • Design mechanical systems, components, or assemblies using engineering principles.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers and contractors to create unique high-level concepts and designs for all assigned projects.
  • Conduct field surveys to identify existing equipment types and system capabilities.
  • Produce design documents including drawings, system flow diagrams and architecture, wiring diagrams, construction details, and equipment scheduling.
  • Deliver concepts and designs according to strict project deadlines.
  • Contribute to all areas of the creative process and department.
  • Handle complex issues and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to team members.
  • Provide training to designer level staff on basic design principles and standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in HVAC Technology, Building Systems Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 4-6 years' design experience
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Strong technical skills
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Vision and Creativity
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Planning skills
  • Possesses working knowledge of the subject matter.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
