About the role
- Design mechanical systems, components, or assemblies using engineering principles.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers and contractors to create unique high-level concepts and designs for all assigned projects.
- Conduct field surveys to identify existing equipment types and system capabilities.
- Produce design documents including drawings, system flow diagrams and architecture, wiring diagrams, construction details, and equipment scheduling.
- Deliver concepts and designs according to strict project deadlines.
- Contribute to all areas of the creative process and department.
- Handle complex issues and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to team members.
- Provide training to designer level staff on basic design principles and standards.
Requirements
- Associate degree in HVAC Technology, Building Systems Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 4-6 years' design experience
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT
- Strong technical skills
- Effective oral and written communications skills
- Vision and Creativity
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Planning skills
- Possesses working knowledge of the subject matter.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
