About the role

  • report directly to the Executive Board
  • assume (personnel) responsibility
  • actively shape the future business unit and its related change and transformation processes
  • be responsible for the real estate strategy, including strategic portfolio management
  • develop and implement real estate projects (e.g., in the area of social infrastructure)
  • prepare space concepts and manage the relevant commercial processes
  • be responsible for the acquisition, sale and leasing of BVG properties and perform property valuations
  • oversee technical, commercial and infrastructural facility management
  • take responsibility for workplace catering, including independent operation of the canteens

Requirements

  • technically accomplished and committed leader with relevant professional and extensive managerial experience in senior strategic and operational roles, with proven success in a similar position of comparable complexity
  • university degree (Master/Diploma) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, etc.) or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through several years of professional experience
  • willingness to undergo an enhanced security check (Ü2) under the Berlin Security Clearance Act (BSÜG) is a necessary prerequisite
  • experienced, creative and courageous leader in accompanying change and transformation processes
  • strong affinity for public transport and a broad understanding of the relevant operational issues of a municipal service provider
  • clear vision for the future of urban and rural mobility
  • confident stakeholder communication, decisiveness and excellent persuasion and communication skills, authoritative presence, conflict management skills and intercultural competence
