About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Senior Business Analyst serves as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, independently driving complex initiatives from concept through delivery.
- Lead end‑to‑end requirements discovery by partnering with business and executive stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and operational needs.
- Translate complex business problems into clear functional specifications, user stories, solution designs and acceptance criteria.
- Perform detailed gap analyses and proactively identify opportunities for system optimization, efficiency gains, and risk mitigation.
- Partner with solution architects and engineering teams to ensure solutions align with technical standards, scalability, security, and integration requirements.
- Facilitate and lead meetings, workshops, and decision‑making forums, driving alignment and accountability.
- Prepare and deliver concise, executive‑ready presentations that clearly articulate findings, recommendations, and trade‑offs.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, release planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring requirements remain aligned to business value.
- Support UAT by defining test scenarios, validating results, and ensuring requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for best practices in analysis, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Exceptional communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) with the ability to influence and engage executive‑level stakeholders.
- Proven self‑starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow‑through.
- Demonstrated initiative and accountability with a strong “get it done” mindset.
- A person with Property and casualty (P&C) insurance background is strongly preferred.
- High degree of organization and comfort operating in a high‑paced delivery environment with competing priorities.
- Strong balance of technical expertise and insurance business acumen.
- Demonstrated experience launching software or services in close partnership with development teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Agile principles, iterative development, and prototyping.
- Deep understanding of business process modeling, data analysis, and requirements management.
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with demonstrated leadership on complex initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Azure DevOps) is strongly preferred.
