Electrical Assistant Project Manager
BergelectricAssistant Project Manager assisting in managing electrical projects from start to closeout under a Project Manager. Collaborate with the team on proposals, financial performance, and quality assurance checks.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in the management of projects from start-up to closeout under the direction of a Project Manager.
- Support a Project Manager, Sr. Project Manager, or Multiple Project Managers in planning, directing, and coordinating construction operations, purchases, financial reporting and project controls activities for an assigned portfolio of concurrent electrical projects.
- Heavily involved in all aspects of project execution from participation in proposals and procurement, contract negotiations, and managing all aspects of project operations and financial performance.
- Collaborate with other project support staff to meet objectives, investigate, and implement ways to improve the efficiency and profitability of all projects.
- Coordinate engineering studies, change order, estimating and situations with engineers.
- Work with owners and clients on specifications and technical questions in planning stages.
- Create subcontracts and POS. Track job costs and predict monthly revenue streams.
- Manage QA/QC on projects, develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and clients.
- Implement and monitor quality control programs on projects. Regularly visit projects to assess performance, progress and quality and ensure connectivity with the field and clients.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of electrical experience/knowledge of construction, design, and cost management as an Assistant Project Manager of Project Engineer with Commercial, Institutional projects.
- BS in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Experience preparing take-offs and estimates for change orders.
- Advanced abilities in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of NECA codes and TIA standards.
- In-depth knowledge of NEC and the NFPA codes and has strong problem-solving skills.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, materials, means & methods, etc.) as well as an understanding of Company and industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
- Proficient in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio and Power Point), Bluebeam, ChangeOrder, and Accubid, or other estimation software, and BOS (Berg Operating System).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to present self in a professional manner and represent the company image.
- Demonstrated track record of leadership and project success.
- Ability to work in fast-paced setting.
