About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive operational excellence, financial stewardship, compliance, scalability, and digital transformation across the Clinical Business Operations team
- Oversee investigator budgets, site contracts, site payments, and the budget data hub team
- Align regional execution strategies with global governance frameworks and establish accountability, decision-making, and escalation mechanisms
- Lead quarterly business reviews, escalation forums, and executive reporting
- Own and monitor operational and financial KPIs for investigator budgeting, site contracting, payments, and budget data governance
- Provide strategic oversight of investigator fee budget planning and financial forecasting
- Direct development, review, negotiation, and execution of site budgets and clinical trial agreements
- Supervise end-to-end site payment and reconciliation processes
- Oversee collection, validation, and maintenance of budget information in databases and systems
- Ensure documentation is audit ready and compliant with regulatory, financial, and internal governance standards
- Maintain oversight of Sunshine reporting and global transparency requirements
- Oversee outsourced vendors and external business partners
- Partner with Corporate Finance on accruals, forecasts, and reconciliations
- Oversee operational finances and team resources
- Lead, guide, and manage team performance
- Support automation tools and digital solutions to improve productivity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or above in Life Sciences, Medical Science/Medical, Finance, Health Economics, or related fields
- 14+ years of experience in clinical operations, study start-up, clinical site budgets, or clinical site contracts within a pharmaceutical sponsor or CRO environment
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively lead teams in a dynamic environment with competing priorities
- Strong executive communication skills and ability to present data-driven insights to senior leadership
- Solution-driven and results-focused approach
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and translate insights into actionable guidance
- Experience working cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Finance, Payments, and Legal stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools
- Knowledge of budget systems and contract lifecycle management platforms
- Good knowledge of ICH-GCP and pharmaceutical-related regulations and laws
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office apps, Power BI, CTMS, Contract Lifecycle Management System, Veeva, and SharePoint
- Willingness to travel globally 10%
