About the role
- Responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategies across market access field segments, analyzing market dynamics, gathering customer and competitive insights, and driving data-driven strategies to enhance product access and profitability.
- Collaborate with Market Access leadership, MA field teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to define and implement short-term and long-term strategies; leverage third-party data to analyze access dynamics and inform pricing decisions.
- Present findings to leadership with actionable insights on contracts, product positioning, analytics-driven portfolio prioritization, pricing strategies, and customer partnerships.
- Monitor access environment and competitive landscape; coordinate with business analytics teams to assess trends and financial implications; ensure alignment between strategy and operations.
- Lead or participate in projects analyzing market disrupters and trends (biosimilars, regulatory changes) and translate insights into strategic opportunities.
- Travel required 15-25% domestic (per job listing) though the role is remote within the US.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree; Advanced degree preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Biological Sciences, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred with 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech and/or healthcare industry.
- 3+ years of extensive experience in market access insights and analytics.
- Role focus area may be provider business strategy or payer business strategy depending on candidate experience and expertise.
- Provider Business Strategy Focus: 3+ years of experience in provider / national account management within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry; in-depth knowledge of market access dynamics, provider landscapes, or related fields with a focus on provider segments; strong understanding of provider and distribution channels.
- Payer Business Strategy Focus: 3+ years of experience in secondary payer analytics, and payer strategy, or managed care in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry; expertise in market access dynamics and payer landscapes, including a deep understanding of payer segments (commercial health plans, PBMs, government payers, etc.) and reimbursement models.
- Other Qualifications: Strong analytical capabilities with Excel, SQL, Tableau; ability to leverage third-party data and insights to drive decision-making; experience in commercial launches; strong presentation and communication skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: leadership skills; ability to collaborate and build relationships; willingness to adapt and handle ambiguity.
