About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the lead bioinformatics scientist for internal drug discovery and development programs
  • Provide comprehensive hands-on support for new target exploration and validation
  • Design, develop, and deploy effective bioinformatics workflows and interactive tools to analyze high-dimensional Omics data
  • Collaborate with the IT team to establish and maintain the bioinformatics computing and analysis infrastructure
  • Develop and execute detailed Omics data generation and analysis plans to support internal program development
  • Propose follow-up validation plans and drive cross-functional validation work
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to bioinformatics scientists
  • Work with research scientists and the global biomarker and translational research team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or other related fields
  • At least 8 years of relevant industry experience
  • Proficient in programming and scripting with R
  • Expertise in at least one other programming language (e.g., Python, Perl, Java)
  • Skilled in working with Linux systems and server/cloud computing environments
  • Extensive experience in analyzing high-throughput biomedical data (e.g., RNASeq, scRNAseq, WES, spatial gene expression profiling)
  • Familiarity with tools for reproducible research such as Git, Conda, Snakemake, or Nextflow
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical biomarker analysis focused on Omics biomarker data for oncology, hematology, or immunology-related drug discovery and development
  • Strong foundation in statistics and mathematics; experience with machine learning/AI is a plus
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills; experience in delivering within a matrix working environment
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English; fluency in Mandarin
