About the role
- Report breaking news across U.S. equities, ETFs, earnings, and macroeconomic events.
- Track stock price movements and identify market-moving catalysts.
- Cover earnings releases, SEC filings, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, and corporate developments.
- Write clear, concise, and SEO-optimized stories under tight deadlines.
- Use financial platforms such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Benzinga Pro, and EDGAR to source and verify information.
- Collaborate with editors to maintain high editorial standards and publishing accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to AP style and newsroom best practices.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in financial journalism, business reporting, or capital markets coverage.
- Strong understanding of U.S. stock markets, financial statements, and economic indicators.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate content in real time.
- Excellent writing, editing, and headline skills.
- Availability to work U.S. overnight hours consistently.
- Experience with financial terminals, newsroom CMS tools, and real-time news environments preferred.
- Knowledge of derivatives, commodities, or crypto markets is a plus.
- Strong SEO skills and data-driven reporting experience preferred.
