Develop detailed technical proposals for Benshaw’s custom motor control solutions.
Serve as the technical liaison between sales, engineering, and the customer.
Own the front-end of the order process from RFQ through hand-off to engineering.
Review customer specifications, analyze technical requirements, and determine deliverables and constraints.
Prioritize RFQs based on win probability and resource availability.
Review contractual terms and support pre-award activities, including bid conferences when needed.
Prepare complete quotation packages and support front-end project management.
Initiate and lead internal kick-off meetings to transition awarded projects to engineering.
Assess orders and determine if escalation to Program Management is needed.
Serve as the main point of contact for technical communications related to proposals.
Provide high-level project oversight and occasional customer-facing travel to support external sales team.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
7–10 years of experience in applications engineering, design/sustaining engineering, or technical sales.
Must have motor control experience, including soft starters and/or VFDs.
Experience in an electronics or industrial manufacturing environment.
Ability to configure complex custom systems with minimal guidance.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 10–20% based on customer/project needs, including possible international travel.
Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D); SolidWorks experience is a plus.
Strong foundation in electrical engineering and power electronics.
Experience with medium voltage preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present technical content effectively.
Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
