About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Follow batch formulas for proper dispersion into tanks
  • Mix raw materials and perform quality checks
  • Perform color matching and tinting to customer specifications
  • Measure and deliver materials accurately to assigned holding tanks
  • Operate electro gauges, valves, temperature controls, flow meters, and transfer equipment
  • Complete batches using approved raw materials, colorants, dispersions, thickeners, and thinners
  • Transfer completed dispersion batches into scheduled tanks for thin-down and color matching/tinting
  • Communicate with other departments during mixing, milling, shading, filling, and packaging processes
  • Coordinate scheduled holding tanks for product processing
  • Maintain filters to support material and product flow
  • Conduct quality control checks and make additions prescribed by the quality assurance lab
  • Reutilize re-work materials in accordance with approved procedures
  • Cross-train and work in other departments as needed
  • Maintain forklifts and related equipment
  • Operate production equipment including weight machines, video jet, labeler, palletizer, case packer, can and carton computer, and depalletizer
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School degree required
  • Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction
  • Previous experience and demonstrated ability to accurately match color specifications
  • Ability to work in a team environment and cross-functionally
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and cleanliness
  • Ability to use company software and computer system programs
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work safely and follow SOPs
  • Ability to operate fill-by-weight machine, Videojet, labeler, palletizer, case packer, can and carton computer, and depalletizer
  • Ability to combine and work with raw materials
  • Ability to follow all batch formulations
  • Ability to mix materials and conduct quality checks
  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending/twisting, squatting, and kneeling
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects from the floor
  • Constant standing for 6–8+ hours
  • Frequent lifting of 10–75 lbs. for 1–8+ hours throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand and climb stairs during an 8–10 hour shift
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. continuously throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for up to approximately 100% of the shift
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, and bend for up to 50% of the shift
  • Constant grasping with dominant hand for 6–8+ hours
  • Frequent fine hand manipulation, pushing, pulling, and reaching above and below shoulder level
  • Constant walking for 6–8+ hours
  • Ability to get onto forklifts continuously throughout the shift
  • Ability to use a respirator and proper PPE, including eye protection and safety shoes
  • Ability to work overtime, up to 4 hours past the regularly scheduled shift, and weekends when required
