Partner directly with customers to understand their IT infrastructure, data workflows, and analytical needs
Leverage technical expertise to design impactful and practical Benchling solutions that streamline operations and accelerate data-driven discovery
Architect and demonstrate cloud-based integrations between Benchling and other enterprise IT systems (e.g., LIMS, ELN, ERP)
Develop data pipelines to facilitate data sharing, analysis, and reporting for data science teams
Collaborate with engineers and product managers to define, prioritize, and execute on new Benchling features and integrations for data scientists and bioinformaticians
Enable complex enterprise deployments by working with Professional Services and Customer Success, focusing on integration with existing IT infrastructure and AI/ML workflows
Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop targeted messaging and materials for IT and Data Science audiences
Contribute to IT & Data Science best practices and influence product development and roadmap
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred)
5+ years of direct experience working with complex software systems, with a strong emphasis on cloud-based, enterprise-scale IT infrastructure, data management, and data analysis within the life sciences R&D space
Experience in developing or working with APIs in Python or R
Excellent at listening to diverse stakeholders (including IT professionals, data scientists, and scientists) and expressing technical ideas clearly
Great at understanding the needs and challenges of both technical and scientific users, and quickly grasping complex scientific and technical concepts
Proven ability to partner effectively with engineering and security teams to solve challenging technical problems related to software integration, data pipelines, and system architecture
Curious, creative, and tenacious, with a passion for leveraging technology to solve complex problems in life sciences
Excited to collaborate with customers as a trusted technical advisor
Ability to travel approximately 20%
