About the role
- Engage deeply with IT leaders, data scientists, and bioinformatics specialists to identify IT and data science pain points and define key success metrics
- Work closely with R&D and Business Value solutions consultants to present cohesive solutions
- Architect and demonstrate cloud-based integrations between Benchling and enterprise IT systems (e.g., LIMS, ELN, ERP) and develop data pipelines for data sharing, analysis, and reporting
- Partner with engineers and product managers to define, prioritize, and execute data science–focused features and integrations
- Collaborate with Professional Services and Customer Success to enable complex enterprise deployments integrating with existing IT infrastructure and enabling AI/ML workflows
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop targeted messaging and materials for IT and Data Science audiences
- Contribute to IT and Data Science best practices and participate in shaping product roadmap to better serve IT and data science users
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred)
- 5+ years of direct experience working with complex software systems with emphasis on cloud-based, enterprise-scale IT infrastructure, data management, and data analysis within life sciences R&D
- Experience in developing or working with APIs in Python or R
- Excellent at listening to diverse stakeholders and expressing technical ideas clearly
- Ability to understand the needs and challenges of both technical and scientific users and quickly grasp complex scientific and technical concepts
- Proven ability to partner effectively with engineering and security teams to solve technical problems related to software integration, data pipelines, and system architecture
- Curious, creative, tenacious, with passion for leveraging technology to solve complex problems in life sciences
- Excited to collaborate with customers as a trusted technical advisor
- Ability to travel approximately 20%
