About the role
- Lead and mentor a small Product Analytics & Data Science team of data engineers and analysts
- Act as a player-coach balancing hands-on analysis with people leadership and strategic prioritization
- Oversee hiring (help hire a new data analyst) and provide technical guidance and mentorship
- Own and execute high-leverage, cross-organizational data projects supporting Product, Customer Experience, Field, and Business Systems
- Define and maintain a roadmap of high-impact data work for product insights and internal operations
- Serve as the connective tissue between product data and customer-facing teams, integrating insights across systems
- Collaborate with stakeholders to scope, prioritize, and execute analytical work for concrete business and product decisions
- Champion data quality, documentation, and analytical rigor across the team's work
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in data analytics or data science, including fluency with tools like SQL, Python or R, and cloud data environments
- 3+ years of experience managing individual contributors
- Experience leading small teams and balancing hands-on work with people management
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to navigate competing priorities and advocate for data-informed work
- Comfortable working within constraints and driving meaningful progress in low-investment environments
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and improve systems and collaboration
- Bonus: Experience working in or with life sciences R&D and/or enterprise SaaS organizations
