About the role
- Oversee profit and loss statements and monthly closings using GAAP equity method for private equity funds and portfolios.
- Guide fund accountants in compiling and analyzing financial data, preparing general ledger entries, and documenting transactions.
- Establish, maintain, and implement accounting controls and procedures.
- Conduct technical accounting research and draft memos as needed.
- Prepare and review investor-specific reports; serve as the primary contact for fund operations across multiple real estate funds.
- Calculate and interpret performance metrics such as IRR, cash yields, and equity multiples.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5–7 years of accounting experience (private equity experience preferred)
- CPA certification is preferred
- At least 3 years’ experience at a public accounting firm preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting consolidation rules
- Exceptional customer service orientation
- Ability to mentor and develop technical skills in others
