Partners with the Director of HR to establish best practices, employee relations, retention, policies and procedures, partnership with the business leaders, and being proactive in identifying development opportunities to elevate the engagement of our associates.
Manages Human Resources operations by coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions;; resolving problems; partnering with the Director of HR to implement change.
Manage special projects by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements; expediting fulfillment; evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating optional courses of action; changing assumptions and direction.
Supports management by providing Human Resources advice, counsel, and decisions, analyzing information and applications.
Guides management and employee actions by recommending policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
Acts as agent of change in redefining the human resources function and outputs.
Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Some travel may be required.

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required
Minimum two years experience managing staff required
PHR or SPHR certification preferred
Minimum 5 years experience in an HR Business Partner/manager role required
Experience managing the HR function for multiple sites required
Experience working with remote teams a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, coaching and counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures required
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management required
Must be able to prepare written reports and correspondence and effectively present information.
Must be able to build and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.
Extensive knowledge of U.S. (state and federal laws) and labor laws required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Required computer skills to include: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Workday, as well as additional hardware/software applications utilized by Human Resources
Ability to use sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the role.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work well under pressure.
Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Highly motivated team player with a passion to succeed.
Experience in real estate and/or multifamily industry preferred.
