About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze Small and Medium Business lending portfolio performance using SQL, SAS, Python, and other analytical tools
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support data-driven credit strategy decisions
  • Transform complex data into recommendations influencing credit policies, lending strategies, risk management, and portfolio growth
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad hoc portfolio reporting
  • Prepare quarterly portfolio reviews covering exposure, balances, product performance, and portfolio health
  • Partner with Credit Risk leaders on lending strategies, policy changes, portfolio initiatives, risk governance, and monitoring
  • Present findings and business implications to stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and improve analytical processes and efficiency
  • Manage projects and analytical initiatives from data discovery through recommendations
  • Build partnerships across the organization and support strategic decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative or business field, or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of related functional experience in credit risk analytics required
  • Advanced experience using quantitative software and database querying tools such as SAS, SQL, and Python
  • Advanced experience using presentation development software such as Tableau, PowerBI, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word, with ability to learn new software quickly
  • Banking, credit union, fintech, or broader financial services experience
  • Experience supporting business, commercial, consumer, credit card, mortgage, or auto portfolios
  • Experience supporting credit policy development and risk governance initiatives
  • Experience analyzing portfolio performance and articulating results and desired outcomes from a risk management perspective
  • Demonstrated experience building cohesive cross-functional teams and facilitating collaborative decision making
  • Ability to collect pertinent data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and formulate recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member using discretion and sound judgment
  • Ability to translate analytics into strategic business outcomes and influence decision-making through data
  • Presentation, storytelling, stakeholder management, verbal communication, and written communication skills
