About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the delivery of electrical projects and manage design scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and overall project execution
  • Undertake and oversee detailed design of electrical systems, including power distribution, low voltage systems, and associated infrastructure for complex industrial and water projects
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, designers, and graduates
  • Conduct technical reviews and design verification activities
  • Support project delivery from planning through commissioning, including engineering estimates, proposals, procurement support, construction, and commissioning activities
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to business growth through proposal development, tender submissions, repeat business opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Champion health, safety, and quality excellence through risk assessments, design safety reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with process, mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, and controls teams
  • Deliver engineering solutions across water, wastewater, mining, industrial manufacturing, energy, and food sectors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified Electrical Engineer
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
  • Extensive experience designing LV and MV electrical systems, power distribution, motor control, and electrical infrastructure for large capital projects
  • Experience delivering detailed electrical design for heavy industrial, water, and wastewater projects in consultancy environments
  • Experience with large multidisciplinary greenfield and brownfield developments
  • Good knowledge of Australian and New Zealand Standards, including AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 3008
  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety Regulations, IEC and IEE Standards, and utility connection requirements
  • Proficiency in Powercad or other electrical modelling software
  • Experience across NZ, Australia, and Asia-Pacific markets desirable but not essential
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or eligibility to obtain chartership desirable but not essential
  • Design and construction support experience desirable but not essential
  • Contractor and vendor management experience desirable but not essential
