About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the delivery of electrical projects and manage design scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and overall project execution
Undertake and oversee detailed design of electrical systems, including power distribution, low voltage systems, and associated infrastructure for complex industrial and water projects
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, designers, and graduates
Conduct technical reviews and design verification activities
Support project delivery from planning through commissioning, including engineering estimates, proposals, procurement support, construction, and commissioning activities
Build strong client relationships and contribute to business growth through proposal development, tender submissions, repeat business opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives
Champion health, safety, and quality excellence through risk assessments, design safety reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with process, mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, and controls teams
Deliver engineering solutions across water, wastewater, mining, industrial manufacturing, energy, and food sectors

Requirements

What you’ll need

Qualified Electrical Engineer
Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
Extensive experience designing LV and MV electrical systems, power distribution, motor control, and electrical infrastructure for large capital projects
Experience delivering detailed electrical design for heavy industrial, water, and wastewater projects in consultancy environments
Experience with large multidisciplinary greenfield and brownfield developments
Good knowledge of Australian and New Zealand Standards, including AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 3008
Knowledge of Electrical Safety Regulations, IEC and IEE Standards, and utility connection requirements
Proficiency in Powercad or other electrical modelling software
Experience across NZ, Australia, and Asia-Pacific markets desirable but not essential
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or eligibility to obtain chartership desirable but not essential
Design and construction support experience desirable but not essential
Contractor and vendor management experience desirable but not essential
