About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as a Planner or Senior Planner with local planning experts and a nationwide team
- Deliver high-quality planning advice and project outcomes
- Work on complex, multidisciplinary projects across community-shaping initiatives
- Strengthen client relationships and contribute to quality project outcomes
- Collaborate with transport specialists, landscape architects, urban designers, environmental advisors, and engineers
- Work with clients including local councils, infrastructure agencies, renewable energy providers, industrial clients, and government organisations
- Engage effectively with clients, mana whenua, stakeholders, and the public
- Support and develop others within the planning team
Requirements
What you’ll need- A degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning or a related discipline
- NZPI membership, or working towards this for Senior Planner
- 4+ years’ experience for Planner or 7+ years’ experience for Senior Planner in environmental and urban planning
- Sound knowledge of the RMA
- Practical experience in statutory and strategic planning, including regional consenting
- Collaborative style and experience working in a team environment and developing others
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Broad understanding of disciplines related to planning matters
- Ability to engage effectively with clients, mana whenua, stakeholders, and the public
- Consultancy experience desirable
- Experience in water, transport, and energy markets, or with industrial and government clients, advantageous
