About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work as a Planner or Senior Planner with local planning experts and a nationwide team
Deliver high-quality planning advice and project outcomes
Work on complex, multidisciplinary projects across community-shaping initiatives
Strengthen client relationships and contribute to quality project outcomes
Collaborate with transport specialists, landscape architects, urban designers, environmental advisors, and engineers
Work with clients including local councils, infrastructure agencies, renewable energy providers, industrial clients, and government organisations
Engage effectively with clients, mana whenua, stakeholders, and the public
Support and develop others within the planning team

Requirements

What you’ll need

A degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning or a related discipline
NZPI membership, or working towards this for Senior Planner
4+ years’ experience for Planner or 7+ years’ experience for Senior Planner in environmental and urban planning
Sound knowledge of the RMA
Practical experience in statutory and strategic planning, including regional consenting
Collaborative style and experience working in a team environment and developing others
Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
Excellent communication and written skills
Broad understanding of disciplines related to planning matters
Ability to engage effectively with clients, mana whenua, stakeholders, and the public
Consultancy experience desirable
Experience in water, transport, and energy markets, or with industrial and government clients, advantageous
