Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement React-based features and architect frontend systems handling large-scale, real-time, and historical aviation data
Integrate, process, and visualize data from live streams and archived datasets
Mentor engineers and drive best practices through code reviews and architectural discussions
Partner with backend engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers on design and implementation decisions
Ensure reliable and maintainable frontend systems through automated testing, documentation, and engineering standards
Build reusable components and internal libraries to accelerate future development
Drive frontend technical leadership, ownership, and strategic direction for high-impact web interfaces integrated with Beacon AI’s flight safety platform

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience building and shipping high-performance, user-facing web applications
Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, state management, HTML/CSS, and modern web standards
Strong experience with asynchronous frontend patterns and handling live and historical data streams
Proven ownership of complex features or product areas from concept through delivery with high autonomy
Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Ability to uphold high technical standards through design decisions, code quality, mentorship, and hiring input
Ability to analyze and optimize frontend performance for scalability, responsiveness, and reliability
Experience with geospatial or mapping tools such as Mapbox or Cesium is a bonus
Experience with live data streaming and playback systems is a bonus
Experience with video streaming technologies and real-time media delivery is a bonus
Must be a U.S. Person due to U.S. export control regulations
Must be authorized to work in the United States
No visa sponsorship or visa transfer support; all work must be performed in the United States
San Francisco Bay Area presence or willingness to relocate
Availability to work full-time
