About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and oversee day-to-day cloud infrastructure operations and service delivery.
- Manage and support the Cloud Administrator(s) and future cloud team members.
- Ensure availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS environments.
- Review and approve cloud architecture designs, infrastructure changes, and deployment strategies.
- Establish and maintain operational standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Oversee management of AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, and related services.
- Manage multi-account AWS environments and governance frameworks.
- Ensure adherence to cloud security policies, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Monitor cloud resource utilization and optimize infrastructure costs.
- Define and maintain backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Ensure backup solutions are properly implemented, tested, and monitored.
- Conduct regular disaster recovery reviews and testing exercises.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Cloud Administrator(s).
- Lead cloud modernization and automation initiatives.
- Promote Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) adoption using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and customer experience.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements.
- Oversee infrastructure monitoring and alert management processes.
- Ensure timely response and resolution of critical incidents.
- Lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
- Define and track service level objectives (SLOs) and operational KPIs.
- Support customer-facing teams in designing and delivering cloud solutions.
- Act as a senior escalation point for cloud-related issues.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to align cloud services with business objectives.
- Manage performance, development, and career growth of cloud team members.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and customer service excellence.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 7–10 years of IT infrastructure experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on AWS cloud administration, engineering, or architecture experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years of leadership or people management experience.
- Proven experience managing production AWS environments.
- Strong experience with: EC2, VPC Design and Management, Multi-Account AWS Environments, IAM and Security Controls, S3 and Backup Solutions, Monitoring and Alerting Platforms.
- Experience managing cloud operations within customer-facing environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent).
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring platforms.
- Experience with SAP Business One (SQL & HANA) environments.
