Architect and develop advanced T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and packages to support application features.
Partner closely with developers—guiding schema design, reviewing SQL code, and ensuring effective query optimization.
Design, test, and implement database structures and SQL scripts.
Act as the SQL expert within the team—owning best practices, providing consultative guidance, and leading POCs for new features.
Analyze query performance and tune workloads using native monitoring tools and performance diagnostics.
Work closely with the Tier-3 Core Support team to troubleshoot and resolve high-priority production issues, providing SQL expertise to identify root causes and implement fixes.
Stay ahead of emerging SQL Server (and broader relational database) capabilities and identify opportunities for adoption
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer, particularly working with SQL Server.
Expertise in writing and optimizing complex queries, procedures, and functions.
Deep knowledge of performance tuning and optimization, with proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex performance issues.
Experience collaborating with production support teams (Tier-3 or equivalent) to resolve live environment issues.
Friendly familiarity with other data platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, Couchbase, etc.) is a strong plus.
Comfort working in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban), including CI/CD pipelines with database changes.
A problem-solver with a strong troubleshooting mindset and the desire to be the team’s go-to SQL authority.
