About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as a major point of contact within the firm and respond to or anticipate stakeholder requests
- Keep stakeholders informed of progress across all aspects of audits
- Deliver accurate and transparent reporting to relevant stakeholders
- Manage the finances of an audit portfolio
- Ensure risk management and quality control procedures are followed
- Identify and recognise business and sales opportunities
- Support Partners and Senior Managers with new business relationships, proposals, sales, and marketing activity
- Recruit, retain, develop, and motivate employees
- Participate in graduate recruitment and complete appraisal and development documentation
- Work with other Audit Managers on resource planning, merit rate meetings, and efficiency gains
- Represent BDO at office marketing events and promote the firm’s services
Requirements
What you’ll need- ACA/ICAS qualification or overseas equivalent
- Good working knowledge of UK and International GAAS
- Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and financial reporting requirements
- Working knowledge of financial products, firm services, advice, regulation, compliance, and anti-money laundering
- Experience of systems and controls testing and substantive auditing
- Experience with consolidations, group audits, statutory accounts, and disclosures
- Project management experience
- Ability to work proactively and manage own tasks
- Confidence collaborating and communicating with Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners
