About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage outstanding file requirements in accordance with BDC audit policies, processes, and procedures
  • Ensure documentation is complete, conditions are met, and required approvals and signatures are obtained
  • Complete annual portfolio reviews and validate portfolio profitability
  • Monitor client borrowing activity and identify opportunities for additional financing or consulting services
  • Review financial statements, perform financial analyses, and assess client risk ratings
  • Identify and address risk indicators, including arrears, risk deterioration, and declining financial performance
  • Evaluate high-risk and complex service requests and recommend solutions to restructure agreements, reduce risk exposure, and mitigate losses
  • Authorize, decline, or recommend loan amendments and service requests within delegated authority levels
  • Collaborate with Credit teams, business centres, and internal stakeholders
  • Build and maintain relationships with business centre personnel and internal colleagues
  • Coach, mentor, and share expertise with team members
  • Stay informed about regional economic trends and assess impacts on BDC clients
  • Maintain current knowledge of credit policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry trends

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an Account Manager in the banking sector
  • Knowledge of banking products, services, policies, processes, and procedures
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and conducting financial analysis
  • Ability to evaluate complex financial structures and assess credit risk
  • Ability to identify issues, exercise sound judgment, and develop proactive solutions
  • Ability to adapt to changing business environments and priorities
  • Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Bilingualism in French and English preferred
