About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage outstanding file requirements in accordance with BDC audit policies, processes, and procedures
- Ensure documentation is complete, conditions are met, and required approvals and signatures are obtained
- Complete annual portfolio reviews and validate portfolio profitability
- Monitor client borrowing activity and identify opportunities for additional financing or consulting services
- Review financial statements, perform financial analyses, and assess client risk ratings
- Identify and address risk indicators, including arrears, risk deterioration, and declining financial performance
- Evaluate high-risk and complex service requests and recommend solutions to restructure agreements, reduce risk exposure, and mitigate losses
- Authorize, decline, or recommend loan amendments and service requests within delegated authority levels
- Collaborate with Credit teams, business centres, and internal stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with business centre personnel and internal colleagues
- Coach, mentor, and share expertise with team members
- Stay informed about regional economic trends and assess impacts on BDC clients
- Maintain current knowledge of credit policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry trends
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience as an Account Manager in the banking sector
- Knowledge of banking products, services, policies, processes, and procedures
- Experience reviewing financial statements and conducting financial analysis
- Ability to evaluate complex financial structures and assess credit risk
- Ability to identify issues, exercise sound judgment, and develop proactive solutions
- Ability to adapt to changing business environments and priorities
- Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Bilingualism in French and English preferred
