About the role
- Lead, hire and grow a high-calibre team of frontend & backend engineers, and their line managers.
- Define and implement a roadmap based on critical business need, that delivers the valuable features, scale, and reliability our clients need, as well making systems more resilient and scalable.
- Drive business-significant and complex initiatives by collaborating across geographically distributed teams and partners.
- Coach and mentor engineers globally in support of their growth and adherence to best practices.
Requirements
- 10-15 years in software engineering or hands-on site reliability engineering of large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- 5+ years of Engineering and software development leadership experience at Sr. Manager or Director Level (have led front line managers). Management experience with Full-Stack is a must (Front-End, Back-End).
- Experience operating SaaS software systems in a production environment, AWS or other major cloud providers and with CI/CD, observability, scalability and high performance.
- Experience across multiple development platforms and services (e.g., microservices, APIs).
- Proven ability to lead new product development teams in an incubator environment.
- Experience interacting with customers, senior executives, and business leads.
- Experience establishing and measuring OKRs, KPI’s and team goals.
- A nuanced understanding of diverse and inclusive hiring practices.
- Critical thinking and communication. Including ability to clearly and crisply write and verbally communicate.
- Comfortable leading multiple and often contending priorities including making and communicating decisions.
- Comfortable with the 10Kft view as well as diving into the details.
- Regularly consider business lens and trade-offs even for deeply technical engineering problems.
- Technical and Industry (eCommerce) experience.
