About the role

  • Functional and disciplinary leadership of the Risk Management and Back Office teams
  • Management of team objectives and tasks as well as providing technical support
  • Support for Trading and Portfolio Management in market and risk analyses
  • Preparation of risk and mark-to-market reports as well as business/financial analyses
  • Further development of the internal risk manual and of internal processes for managing risks
  • Responsibility for the framework of the Internal Control System
  • Further development and optimization of IT tools for risk calculation and reporting
  • Responsibility for Back Office processes (contract management, EOD) and trade confirmations
  • Coordination of audit activities with external auditors and internal audit
  • Responsibility for regulatory reporting (EMIR, REMIT, MAD/MAR)

Requirements

  • Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics)
  • Very good knowledge of the energy industry and of the processes and workflows in energy trading
  • Several years of professional experience in risk management or portfolio management in energy trading
  • Experience leading and developing small to medium-sized teams
  • Experience working with an ETRM system
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and generally digitally proficient
  • Ideally experience implementing regulatory reporting (REMIT & EMIR)
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of an analysis tool (e.g., Matlab, R, SAS) would be an advantage
  • Familiar with processes for settling wholesale transactions (trade confirmations, trade lifecycle, settlement, etc.)
  • Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken
