About the role
- Lead development and refresh of the 3–5 year enterprise strategy, including growth, portfolio, and capability priorities
- Develop and maintain an integrated “strategy on a page” and supporting frameworks used by executive leadership and the Board
- Partner with Finance to model scenarios, evaluate investments, and define value-creation targets
- Conduct structured market, competitive, and technology analyses to inform strategic choices (e.g., service lines, partnerships, geographies, M&A)
- Design and run the annual and multi-year strategic planning process, ensuring tight linkage to budgeting, capital allocation, and OKRs
- Facilitate cross-functional strategy workshops with executive and functional leaders to set strategic imperatives, top-level OKRs, and success metrics
- Partner with the AVP Strategic Execution & Business Alignment to maintain an operating cadence for strategic reviews, progress tracking, and course corrections
- Build and oversee a light-weight market intelligence capability that tracks trends, customer segments, regulatory shifts, and competitor moves
- Size new growth opportunities in partnership with senior leadership and functional leaders (e.g., products, channels, partnerships, M&A); support due diligence and integration planning
- Partner with Transformation and Business Alignment to prioritize the enterprise portfolio of strategic initiatives and ensure resources are aligned to the strategy
- Define and track strategic KPIs and leading indicators; provide regular, executive-ready insights on progress, risks, and trade-offs
- Prepare clear, compelling materials for ELT and Board strategy discussions (narratives, dashboards, scenarios, and recommendations)
- Serve as a thought partner on high-impact decisions, trade-offs, and communication of strategy to the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, life sciences, or related field
- MBA strongly preferred
- 8+ years (Director) / 10+ years (Senior Director) of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or related roles
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise-level strategic planning and complex cross-functional initiatives
- Experience in healthcare, biotech, diagnostics, or related regulated industries preferred.
- Exceptional structured problem-solving, analytical and financial modeling skills
- Strong strategic storytelling and executive communications
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority
- Comfort with ambiguity and change; able to move from concept to execution.
- Prior experience in a growth-stage or transformation environment (e.g., scaling, integration, etc.) preferred
- Experience designing and managing OKR or similar goal-management frameworks at the enterprise level
- Exposure to M&A strategy, partnerships, or venture/innovation scouting.
